Bernard
Meet Bernard Maina Macharia!
Driver. Bernard is an orphan. His mother was killed by her 2nd husband, and later the H.I.V positive husband died after being shot with an arrow during the political violence. After the death of their mother, he and his sister Pauline were taken in by their grandmother. The kids and their grandmother had to leave their home and run for safety during the political unrest of 2007 and they were living in a rental home. The grandmother would leave the kids very early in the morning to go to town (Nakuru) to beg for food from the people passing by (strangers). When the kids woke up, they would go to look for food in the dustbins. Strong Tower management rescued these two children. Since Pauline cannot stay at Strong Tower with all the boys, she is living with Pastor Paul and Martha.
