Gladys is from Kwambekenya in Kinangop. Her mother passed away and she was left in the care of her grandparents with her sister. Her grandparents could not support them and they had to drop out of school because they could not afford it. Her sister got married very young. Gladys was brought by her grandmother to Tumaini so that she could have the care she needs.
