Meet Joseph Kupalo Welekhe!
Joseph and his two brothers came to CCRC after a good neighbor saw that the boys had dropped out of school and were searching garbage bins for food. Their father is deceased and their mother abandoned them when she remarried. Their grandfather tried to care for them but did not have the means to do so. After years of trying to care for his younger brothers and make sure they got enough to eat, Joseph now has the opportunity to go to school and no longer has to worry about from where their next meal will come. He enjoys science class and wants to become a police officer.
