Meet Mary Wairimu Karungu!
Mary has six older siblings. She was barely a month old when her mother died from HIV. Mary’s father was also HIV positive, poor, and an addict trying to care for the other six children. Mary was referred to Beat the Drum Children’s Home when she was just a baby. Her father passed in 2019 so she has remained with us. She is happy at our home where she is properly cared for and has the opportunity for an education.
