Shem
Meet Shem Mutua!
Shem was a very desperate case brought to CCRC in February, 2009. His parents broke up and his mother was not able to feed the children and meet other basic needs and so they were also not able to attend school. Shem was very hungry so he snatched some food from a shop and an angry crowd chased him and threatened to kill him. A good Samaritan rescued him, but Shem refused to go home so the man took him home with him. When the burden of taking care of an extra child became too big the man brought Shem to Christ Compassion. After some counseling to assure that he would stay at CCRC, he was been enrolled in school. He had some problems adjusting, and was transferred to Strong Tower in 2010. He seems very happy to have a home where he receives food, clothes and a roof over his head. He is extremely happy to get the chance to receive an education again. Shem likes to dance and hopes to become an electrical engineer one day.
