Meet Virginia Wanjiru Waithera!

Virginia is the third born of four children. Her mother is irresponsible and suffers from alcoholism which resulted in the children being neglected. They would go for days without seeing her and then she would chase them away from home. A night watchman at a local school often let them sleep at the school gate where he could watch over them. After a while, he reported the case to the police. Virginia had severe malnutrition but after being placed at Rhema Children’s Home, she now has a safe place to sleep and access to nutritious meals and healthcare so she can catch up developmentally.
